Joe Rivera
Joe is an accomplished volleyball coach with a rich multi-sport background and a proven coaching pedigree. Hailing from Puerto Rico, Rivera excelled as a setter on the Puerto Rico Junior National Volleyball Team, honing advanced tactical skills, quick decision-making, and team communication. His athletic versatility spans NCAA Division I baseball (pitcher and outfielder at Alabama Southern State College and Albany State University), basketball, track and field (javelin), and table tennis, where he was a champion. Rivera also competed in Double-A Winter Baseball Leagues in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic and currently performs as a professional wrestler, showcasing his mental toughness and athletic adaptability.
With certifications from the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Rivera brings expertise in physical conditioning, agility, and injury prevention to his coaching. As Personal Training Director at LA Fitness, he refined his ability to develop athletes holistically. Coach Rivera is dedicated to fostering technically proficient, mentally resilient, and team-oriented volleyball players, instilling a championship culture rooted in discipline, energy, and integrity.
